SKILLED-NOMINATED VISA : SUBCLASS 190

POINTS TESTED – STATE OR TERRITORY NOMINATED REQUIRED

If you nominate an occupation on the (Expanded) Migration Occupation List (EML) you must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency for this visa. You can also nominate additional occupations that are on the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL). You must have been nominated for this visa by an Australian State or Territory government agency.

Have a complete expression of interest (EOI) in SkillSelect.

State and Territory government agencies will be able to see your completed EOI and may nominate you for the visa.

The Department of Home Affairs will invite you to apply for the visa if you are nominated for the visa by a State or Territory government agency.

All State and Territory government agencies have their own criteria which they use to decide whom they will nominate.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Have an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list
Have a suitable skills assessment for the occupation
Satisfy the points test with a score of 65 points or more
Be nominated by a State or Territory government agency
Be invited by Department of Home Affairs to apply for the visa
Be under 45 years
Have a competent level of English language
Meet the skills requirement
Meet Australia’s Health and Character requirements
Have paid back any debts to the Australian Government
Sign the Australian values statement
Not had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused

BENEFITS OF SKILLED-NOMINATED VISA

You will be invited to apply for the visa if nominated by a State or Territory government even where you score the minimum pass mark of 65 points under the Points Test
There is an expanded list of occupations available for this visa when compared with occupations available for the 189 Skilled-Independent visa
Eligible relatives can be included in the visa application
If eligible, become an Australian citizen
