SKILLS SHORTAGE VISA : SUBCLASS 482
SHORT/MEDIUM TERM – TEMPORARY
This temporary visa lets an employer sponsor a suitably skilled* worker to fill a position they can’t find a suitably skilled Australian to fill.
*Requires an occupation that is on the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (SSOL) for the Short Term Stream or an occupation on the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skill List (MLTSSL) for the Medium Term Stream.

SHORT TERM STREAM
You can stay for up to 2 years or up to 4 years if an International Trade Obligation (ITO) applies. Hong Kong passport holders may stay up to 5 years.
MEDIUM TERM STREAM
You can stay for up to 4 years. Hong Kong passport holders may stay up to 5 years.
